Why there is no GTA 7 map
Rockstar announces one Grand Theft Auto at a time, and it has never shown material for a sequel before shipping the current one. GTA 5 launched in 2013. The first GTA 6 trailer arrived in December 2023, more than ten years later. On that pattern, a GTA 7 reveal belongs to the 2030s.
That means every image labelled as a GTA 7 map today is one of three things: fan art, a reskinned GTA 5 or GTA 6 map, or an AI generated picture. None of it comes from Rockstar.
What you can explore today
The real map in play is Leonida, the state GTA 6 is set in. It is the largest world Rockstar has built, and enough of it has been confirmed to be genuinely useful to learn before launch.
- The interactive GTA 6 map, zoomable in your browser with 129 pinned locations
- The full map explainer, covering what is confirmed and what is still guesswork
- The location index, sorted across 8 regions
- The release date and platform list
Where GTA 7 might be set
Worth saying plainly: nobody knows. The names that come up most often in community discussion are Liberty City, a modern return to San Andreas, and a first setting outside the United States. All three are speculation with nothing behind them. When something real appears, it will come through the Rockstar newswire, and it will be covered here.
GTA 7 FAQ
+Is there a GTA 7 map?
No. Rockstar Games has not announced Grand Theft Auto 7, so there is no map, no setting and no footage. Anything presented as a GTA 7 map today is fan art or a fake.
+When will GTA 7 be announced?
Not for a long time. GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, and the gap between a Grand Theft Auto launch and the next reveal has historically run close to a decade. GTA 5 shipped in 2013 and GTA 6 was revealed in late 2023.
+Where will GTA 7 be set?
Unknown, and every answer you read online is guesswork. Fans most often name Liberty City, a return to San Andreas, or a first non US setting such as London or Tokyo, but Rockstar has said nothing.
+What map can I actually explore now?
The GTA 6 map of Leonida. 129 locations are pinned on the interactive version here, each one traced to an official trailer frame, a Rockstar screenshot or a 2022 leak reference.
